National Day

Wow I had a wonderful National Day.
Because I, my brother and my sister went to the cinema and saw the 3-D movie UP.
It was a spectacular show.

Rojak making

I would like you to share with me about your personal experience in the Rojak Making activity that we had this morning. What do you like most of this year Racial Harmony Day programmes?

I like this activity because it is fun to make and great to taste.I also like the experienceof taking turns addingall the ingredients into the mixing bowl.
I like the food on racial harmony day it's very delicious especially the ice-cream.

My family members are Jarren my brother, Carren my
sister, Ling Ling my mother and last but not least, Edmund my father.
I like to play indoors and outdoors.
I also like to play computer and skipping rope.

Passion For Learning

In your opinion, what do you understand by 'passion for learning' ?
Passion for learning means that you have a burning interest to learn new things and get more knowledge.

Why do you think it is necessary for people to have a passion for learning?
I think it is necessary for people to have passion for learning so that people can learn new things and that they will not have no interest in learning and just stay at home and stop getting more knowledge.

What can you do to develop your passion for learning?
By asking questions to gain more knowledge and by going to the library to discover new books and reading the library books.

I celebrate racial harmony day.

2. Why do you celebrate this festival?
So that people will not have war and fight with each other and so that we will get to know more friends.

3. How do you celebrate the festival?
We celebrate the festival by playing with different people that we do not know.
And eating with other people.

4. Do you know what are the festivals celebrated by the other races? If so, could you name a few? Also tell us who celebrate them and why they celebrate them.
Yes! I know some other festivals are celebrated.And they are Chinese New Year,Christmas,Deepavali.

5. Do you think the celebration of the various festivals help in strengthening racial harmony among the various race in Singapore? If so, how?
I think it helps a bit Chinese New Year helps the people to make friends with each other too.

6. In your opinion, how can we develop stronger bonds among the various races in Singapore?
By caring for others and sharing things with them.

Earth Hour

1. What is Earth Hour?
Earth hour is a day to remind us to not waste electricity.
And to remind us to reuse, reduce and recycle.

2. When is it held this year?
It is held on 22 April 09.

3. Why do you think people are organising this event?
So that they will help people to remind them of saving electricity.
And that they will not waste electricity.

4. What will everyone be doing during Earth Hour?
They will be turning off the lights when they go outdoors and at night the lights will go off for another hour just to save electricity.

5. What other activities can you organise with your family and friends during Earth Hour?
Save water by not leaving the water on for too long while bathing.

6. What are the other problems the Earth is facing?
Not enough food and water for the country.

7. Could you propose some solutions to ONE of the problems which you have highlighted?
Reduce water usage by not showering too long. Do not overcook more than enough food than needed by your family. Take only just what you can eat in buffets.

Kindness

1. What do you mean by 'kindness'?
Kindness means sharing and caring for others.
Kindness also means being considerate and polite.

2. Is it important for people to be kind? Why?
Yes! It is important to be kind because if people were not kind there would first be arguments then fighting and lastly war.

3. How can people show their kindness?
By comforting others when their sad.


4. Could you describe an act of kindness which you have done?
Sharing with others my colour pencils and teaching others in their homework.
Being polite to others.

5. How did you feel after doing that act of kindness?
I felt very glad and happy.

6. What other act/s of kindness would you like to do either in school, at home or in the community?
Care for others and be considerate to others.

7. How can you yourself promote the message of kindness to your friends?
By telling them to say 'please may I borrow your.........'whenever they want to borrow something.

International Friendship Day

Why do we celebrate International Friendship Day?

So that we can make new friends and learn more about other people.

Do you have any friend/s in the ASEAN countries? Tell us how you get to know him/her.

I have a malay firend called Siti.I got to know her because she is in same school and is in the same class as me.

What activities do you think the school should organise to help pupils develop friendship with the ASEAN countries?
Make slide shows of their activities or food.And see their different dances.
Eat their delicious foods.

Yes! I like the shoe and cloths display in our class and outside the art room because it is very colourful and it has the school spices.

My Personel Response 3

1. Which aspect/s of the school do you like very much? Why?

I like the school canteen because there are upgrades now and the food now is more delicious.
I also like the school field because it's where you can run about here and there.
2. What do you think can be done to improve it/them?

Plant more flowers and decorate the classrooms.
Paint the walls with bright colours.
3. How can pupils help in the improvement of the school?

Keep the classroom and field clean.
Do not litter and don't scratch the tables or draw on them.
